Version 2 In Development
Hello All,
I've been very slowly working on a version 2 for Sword & Board for a while now. I've got two main goals for the rewrite:
1) Decompress the layout from a single page into a small booklet. It'll spread things out, give the text room to breath, and hopefully be a bit less eye watering to look at. The one page version will still exist alongside that.
2) I want to expand the content. Specifically I have a die drop generator in mind that would create a point crawl "overworld" that would create the sort of sprawling, interconnected setting that Souls games tend to have. I have a few other ideas as well (item description lore generator?) but that will depend on how writing goes.
To give you an idea of what a new layout might look like, here are a couple WIP spreads:
The main reason for this post is to ask for feedback on the current version. If you've run it, what parts worked and what parts didn't? Was there anything that felt superfluous, or anything that felt like it was missing? If you haven't run it, is there anything you'd like to see included in a future version?
I'm open to any and all feedback about this.
Thanks for your support for this project so far,
David

Re: the Estus coins, I really like the uncertain spend rate that is built into your 1-BIT rule about flipping a heads up coin.
Ooo, interesting thought. I hadn't considered importing that rule into S&B.
exciting! one page is good for honing in on whats important, but its limiting, but then breaking out of 1 page afterwards should lead to some good stuff.
