The Project Is Not Dead!


Meteor is going to be finished someday, I swear!

A small update consisting of:

  • Dropping starting Undefined Skills to 1
  • Swapping out a few Random Skills (this will likely continue to be fiddled with)
  • Adding “Rerouting Power” to the defined Ship Combat actions
  • Various typo fixes

Was just pushed to the website and github repository, which is also public in case anyone wants to fork it (see cairn’s helpful instructions), point out typos, or just point at laugh at my fumbling through figuring out how gemfiles work.

I’ve also updated the character sheets with those changes, plus an O2 meter to work with the O2 rules (which I intend to be pretty core to the game). The fillable character sheet, and the game book PDF itself will be updated with those changes sooooon.

My immediate plans moving forward are to finally finish the adventure I plan to release with the game, which is currently on its 3rd revision after play tests (feel free to reach out if you’d like to take a look once the revisions are complete). I won’t even pretend to give a timeline given how things have gone on this project so far.

Some of my more ambitious ideas are likely to be cut for space and time, mainly the galaxy generation tools I was pondering. Realistically this game’s intent is to run modules and content from other games, and so doesn’t as strongly need creation tools as I initially thought. And knowing myself I’m likely to get stuck fiddling with the details for ages and I’d rather those elements not be yet another hold up on finishing the core book.
